The main objective of the Union is a consolidation of intellectual, industrial and technical potential of specialists in the field of blasting work in the interests of Ukraine.
The main tasks of the Union are:

• to provide the specialists in the field of blasting work with the information needed to solve technical, social and industrial problems.
• to form scientific and technical policy in the field of blasting work, to promote the development of academic, higher education and branch science, and also the engineering activity of scientists and production workers.
• to promote the opening and use of the creative potential of engineers and scientists for the successful development of the theory, technology and practice of blasting work in relation to different fields of economy, and also the propaganda and introduction of the new achievements in the manufacture.
• the defence of the professional and economic interests of explosives engineers and specialists of blasting work.
• the organization and realization of the international contacts of the Ukrainian engineers and scientists in the field of blasting work.
• to promote the fast growth of the scientific and engineering potential in the field of blasting work.
• to promote the development of the main and applied researches of the engineering and technical activity and the introduction of the new technology that provide technical progress in blasting work.
• to promote the introduction of the results of the scientific researches and design developments, the manufacture of the experimental patterns of blasting technologies.
